You can read a more detailed account of Tom Hiddleston work with gender equality in the Leading Lady Parts post.

The This is what a feminist looks like shirt seen is the photo series was sold to raise money for the Fawcett Society, Britain's largest women's advocacy group. The Fawcett Society campaigns for women's rights and gender equality. The shirts were originally sold by fashion retailer, Whistles, but was quickly removed due to unethical manufacturing practices.  You can still purchase items directly from the Fawcett Society with the This is what a feminist looks like slogan with profits supporting the charity.

Young Marx Opening at Bridge Theatre (2017)

October 26, 2017:

Who's Who of the London theatrical world; including Tom Hiddleston, Lolita Chakrabarti, Dame Maggie Smith, Jonathan Pryce, Simon Russell Beale, Sam Mendes, Mark Gatiss, David Suchet, Adam Deacon, and Mayor Sadiq Khan, showed up for the opening of Bridge Theatre's inaugural play Young Marx.

Young Marx stars Tom's The Hollow Crown co-star, Rory Kinnear as the famed German philosopher Karl Marx. It was the first performance at the brand new 900-seat Bridge Theatre in London.

Ben Whishaw (King Richard II), David Suchet (Duke of York), Rory Kinnear (Henry Bolingbroke), Tom Hiddleston (Prince Hal/Henry V)

Fashion:

First things first, Tom surprised fans by shaving off the famous fabulous beard he has been sporting for most of the year. Hopefully, this means Tom is getting ready to suit up as Loki again in the next final Infinity War film. The Ralph Lauren suit should look very familiar to fans since he has worn it more than two dozen times since 2015. This look has been Tom's go-to for semi-formal events. He was also sporting his Mykita glasses.

I Saw the Light Premiere in Nashville (2015)

October 17, 2015:

The last stop for Tom Hiddleston after a whirlwind press tour promoting THREE different films (Crimson Peak, I Saw the Light, High-Rise) was in Nashville for the I Saw the Light premiere. It was announced right before the premiere that the release date for the film would be delayed from November 27, 2015 to March 25, 2016. So fans at the Nashville premiere were able to get a very advanced look at the film. Elizabeth Olsen, Bradley Whitford, Wrenn Schmidt, Maddie Hasson, and director Marc Abraham were all on hand at the Belcourt Theatre to introduce the film.

Tom told reporters that bringing I Saw the Light to Nashville was "extraordinary and beyond my wildest dreams. I hope that I can do the community proud. I hope that they get it. The whole thing has been the most unexpected privilege for me and this is the icing on the cake."

At the after-party Tom took the stage to perform several Hank Williams songs including Hey Good Lookin' and Move It On Over.

You can see how much improvement Tom has made both vocally and musically compared to his very first performance in 2014 thanks to training from Rodney Crowell.

Three years later, Tom performed as Hank again when he joined Rodney Crowell on stage in London.

Fashion:

Tom wore his trusty Ralph Lauren Pool Wool Suit which made many appearances during his September/October press tour.

Crimson Peak Friday (2015)

October 16, 2015:

Crimson Peak was released in US theaters on Friday, October 16 so the cast had a full day of promotion in NYC for their new film.

Up first: Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, and Mia Wasikowska visited AOL Build. This was Tom's first time on AOL Build. At 6:00 he breaks down the entire history of the waltz that he learned for a scene in the film. Poor Tom has a whopper of a Freudian slip when he says breasts instead of breath and it's "all downhill from there" lol. He later went on to say the the waltz scene was his favorite to film (17:30). The final audience question is whether Tom will ever perform on Broadway: I would love to do theatre in this city. I actually have done it once, I played at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2007 with a production of Cymbeline. But I'd love to come back. I don't know when or how or with what. I have to just make the time and make the commitment.

Then Tom and Jessica made an appearance on HuffPost Live. (1:30) Tom describes the difference between horror and gothic romance: Gothic romance is in itself a genre, separate from horror. Horror is something that has evolved more recently into something that is explicitly about terrifying you, about giving you nightmares, about creating the scariest environment possible. Gothic romance is more. When it came around in literature it was the first time that anyone had explained the supernatural in terms of unprocessed emotional trauma, the idea that ghosts were emotions locked in time. That they were warnings about the past or the future. And it's always bound up with these two forces of love and death. And usually there is a young, innocent heroine who is drawn to a tall, dark stranger with a crumbling mansion and impelled into a very dangerous situation by her sexuality. At the time it was a very rebellious genre. People didn't talk about sex and death in the same context. That's where Crimson Peak sits. It's squarely a love story with ghosts in it. At 14:30 they start talking about women's equality and the wage gap, Tom says "I truly think it's an anathema to reason and reasonable thought. It should've been done a long time ago."

HuffPost Live invited fans to fall in love with Tom Hiddleston... as if they weren't already.

Director Guillermo del Toro joined the cast for their final stop of the day at appearing on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Stephen and Guillermo had a fun time teasing Tom about his English Countryside.

Fashion:

Tom Hiddleston started the day wearing a Reiss Noir Melange shirt, along with his Ariat Roper boots ($144.95), and Mykita Kaya glasses ($499). This Reiss shirt is my favorite shirt Tom has ever worn.

For the Late Show Tom wore his Ralph Lauren Polo suit ($995)

Golden Globes (2017)

January 8, 2017:

Tom Hiddleston attended the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hills Hilton. The Night Manager had a total of four nominations: Best Actor in a Limited Series, Miniseries or Film Made for Television (Tom Hiddleston), Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series, Miniseries or Film Made for Television (Hugh Laurie), Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series, Miniseries or Film Made for Televsion (Olivia Colman), and Best Limited Series or Film Made for Television (The Night Manager).

The night got off to a fun start when Nicole Kidman crashed Tom's red carpet interview. She made sure to let us know what Tom was wearing - I guess I can retire now.

The Golden Globes turned out to be a Golden Day when Tom, Hugh, and Olivia (who did not attend) all won acting awards for the series.

In his acceptance speech, Tom dedicated his award to relief workers: The idea that we could provide some relief and entertainment for the people who work for Unicef, Médecins Sans Frontières, and the World Food Programme who are fixing the world in the places where it is broken made me immensely proud so I dedicate this award those out there who are doing their best. Thank you.

Tom Hiddleston received some criticism for his speech and went so far as to post an apology on his Facebook. I think we can all relate to being nervous and your words not coming out exactly as you intended too but... a lot of people were motivated by his speech. We were hosting a fundraiser for Unicef UK in honor of Tom's birthday.  During his winner's interview, Variety's Jenelle Riley mentioned to Tom that she owed him $20 and that she was going to donate it to Unicef. Prior to the event Jenelle told me about the bet with Tom and we agreed that we would each donate $20 to the Unicef UK fundraiser. And we did! You can say that Tom himself has indirectly donated to our fundraiser! I don't know if it was his speech, or Jenelle Riley, or a combination of both but we received more than £1,000 in new donations in the 24 hours after Tom Hiddleston won - and closed out that year's fundraiser a month later with more than £14,000! We are hosting another Unicef UK fundraiser this year if anyone is interested in donating - we also have fun prizes you can win!
