A Service of Thanksgiving celebrating the Life of Work of Richard Attenborough was held at Westminster Abbey in London. Lord Attenborough died in August 2014 after years of deteriorating health.

Sir Ben Kingsley led the procession of mourners. Kingsley starred in Gandhi, a film Attenborough directed and won them both Oscars.

During the service, Tom Hiddleston read a passage from the Bible. Lord Attenborough served as president of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) while Tom was a student.

in 2017, Tom Hiddleston performed in a production of Hamlet at RADA which raised money for the RADA Attenborough Campaign

Sir Kenneth Branagh, who directed #RADAHamlet and now serves as the President of RADA was also at the service.
