Glamour Women of the Year Awards (2012)

May 29, 2012:

The Glamour Women of the Year Awards were held at London's Berkeley Square Gardens. The show is hosted by Glamour Magazine and Pandora to honour extraordinary and inspirational women from a variety of fields including entertainment, sport, business, politics, and more.

Tom Hiddleston arriving on the red carpet.

Additionally, each year the event honours a Man of the Year. In 2012 that award went to Tom Hiddleston.

In his acceptance speech Tom took the time to thank an important woman in his life, his mother: I've always aspired to be a greater man than I am, and I'm no where near there yet so I'd like to, rather sentimentally, dedicate this award to my Mum for making me the man that I am.

Fashion:

Tom Hiddleston wore an Armani micro houndstooth blazer with a leather tie. This is still one of my favorite all time looks but turns out not every one was a fan - Tom took to twitter to defend his tie choice.

Deadline's The Contenders Emmy Event (2016)

April 10, 2016:

The Night Manager was included in Deadline's first ever Emmy Contender's Event. Producers Simon Cornwell and Stephen Garrett joined stars Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie for a panel, moderated by Pete Hammond, at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles. (This is the same theater where the LA premiere for TNM was held.) Photographed by Eric Schwabel.

Unfortunately, a full video of the panel has never been released but you can watch a short highlight reel below.  Somehow all of Pine's shirtless scenes made it into the highlight reel. 😼

(1:00) Tom is asked about Pine's many disguises: "He's someone who has hidden behind anonymity of uniform. The uniform of a Night Manager, and the uniform of a soldier. He's someone who's accustomed to living a system of rules with a skill set that includes diplomacy, and elegance, and charm, and refinement, and everybody trusts him. But the events of the story compel him to stand up for something - to find that flag to fight for. The layers of that was a thrilling challenge. As well as this incredibly romantic, brave thing that he does. To be a spy is to live without intimate relationships. And to try to take down an international arms dealer, it to live within the jaws of of the beast knowing that they could snap shut at any time. And if they do - he's a dead man."

Fashion:

There are two rules of the universe. The sun rises in the east, and if I really love something Tom Hiddleston will only wear it once. As is the case with the double Brunello Cucinelli linen blazer + crew-neck striped sweater combo. Le sigh.

He could've at least worn these stripey socks again.

Early in his career, Tom embraced stripes as a key part of his wardrobe.

He was also wearing his J Brand Tyler jean and Aquatalia Ace boots.

Tom Hiddleston: Small Steps Project

Small Steps Project is a humanitarian organisation and UK registered charity supporting children and their families on rubbish dumps.

We are dedicated to supporting children around the world who live on rubbish dumps and survive from scavenging. We aim to raise awareness, through film, of the unacceptable hardships that they face.
We make documentary films and organise campaigns, such as Celebrity Shoe Auctions, to boost awareness  and funds for of this huge, but often overlooked, global situation.
We deliver shoes, hygiene kits and emergency aid to protect children in the dump environment, followed by sustainable solutions to enable children to take small steps off rubbish dumps and into education. Find out more about Small Steps Project and contact us here.

Tom Hiddleston donated shoes to the Small Steps Project's annual Celebrity Shoe Auction several times. His shoes have raised a combined £7,670 for the charity.

In 2013, Tom donated these Chuck Taylor All Star shoes which sold for £4,500. (This type of shoe is still available and retails for $50).

In 2014, Tom donated these Jimmy Choo Portman shoes which sold for £2,150. (This type of shoe is still available for $695).

In 2015, Tom donated these Hudson Bay Jack Purcell Converse shoes which sold for £1,020. (These shoes are no longer available).

There is currently a fan fundraiser from HiddlesGoddesses trying to raise $10,000 for the Small Steps Project to celebrate their 6th anniversary!

BAFTA TV Awards (2016)

May 8, 2016:

Tom Hiddleston attended the BAFTA TV Awards for the first time. The awards were held at the Royal Festival Hall in London. Wolf Hall was nominated for the most awards and Tom's sister, Emma Hiddleston, played a small role in the series.

A look at Tom arriving and the heavy security around him on the red carpet.

This young interviewer is the real MVP for asking Tom about his suit and "underarm tape" on the red carpet. The Night Manager wasn't eligible for the 2016 Awards and it was heavily hinted that TNM would score multiple nomination in 2017... but of course there was only one single nomination for the show, because BAFTA has always overlooked Tom Hiddleston's work.

Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba have long had their names thrown around to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond. The two actors and Thor co-stars played up their rivalry at the show.

Host Graham Norton couldn't pass up an opportunity to discuss the Hiddlesbum.

"Thanks to his fantastic performance in The Night Manager, poor Donald Trump was only the second most talked about arse of the year!"

Tom presented the Best Actress award to Suranne Jones for her role in Doctor Foster.

After the show is the after party! DJ T-Hiddy managed the night right in the dj booth and on the dance floor.

Fashion:

  • Burberry Pleated Bib Cotton Shirt, £295.
