Comic Relief: Prizeathon (2019)

February 20, 2019:

In the lead up to Red Nose Day 2019, Comic Relief has opened their annual Prize-A-Thon raffle. Red Nose Day is March 15 in the UK and May 23 in the US. Through their Red Nose Day activities and fundraisers, Comic Relief has raised more than £1,000,000,000 to help in poverty around the world.

One of the Prize-A-Thon prizes, is a chance to meet Tom Hiddleston and watch his play Betrayal in London on May 27, 2019.

Your chance to hang out with Tom Hiddleston in the flesh *faints* - and tickets to watch his incredible performance in the sold out West End hit play, Betrayal.
Tom Hiddleston would like to invite you to the sold-out production of Betrayal by Harold Pinter on the 27 May. You’ll be met at the theatre, treated like a star, and taken to the exclusive Ambassador Lounge for pre-show drinks. You’ll then be given two precious house seats to watch one of the most anticipated shows of the year. When the show is over, you'll join the star of the show, Golden Globe and Olivier Award winner, Tom Hiddleston for drinks and snacks in the bar. The hottest ticket in town – followed by some private time with the star of the show. You will be hard pushed to find a more sensational night out in London’s glittering West End.

Each entry is £10. Or you can also enter for free by writing in (details in the link). The last day to enter is March 31, 2019 and the winner will be notified on April 15, 2019. *Travel and hotel accommodations are not included so if you are outside of London you will have to arrange that on your own.

If you don't like your odds in the raffle (and you have a few extra thousand of £££££££s laying around), you can also bid outright for this opportunity in the Red Nose Day Auction (this went for £18,000!!!!).

On February 27, Tom Hiddleston recorded a video tease for the competition. Please be nice.

For those wondering: No, this video was *not* filmed inside of Tom's house. This was recorded at Richard Curtis and Emma Freud's house where they had a Red Nose Day Dinner on February 26th. Richard Curtis co-founded Comic Relief in 1985 and Emma serves as Director of Red Nose Day. Emma shared the video this morning. Tom also posed with his friend John Macmillan and actor Tom Moutchi.

Kong: Skull Island Press Conference in Vietnam

February 21, 2016:

The cast of Kong: Skull Island received a royal welcome when they arrived in Vietnam. Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, and director Jordan Vogt-Roberts sat down for a press conference at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi Hotel to announce their plans to film in the country and promote local tourism. The U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, Ted Osius, and executive producer, Alex Garcia, were also on stage.

It was announced that Kong: Skull Island would spend five weeks filming at several different locations throughout Northern Vietnam.

"...What viewers want to see when they go to the cinema are new and original landscapes and scenery, so we had to travel the world to offer them new experiences. We came to Vietnam during the process and were immediately stunned by the surreal beauty of your country, from the mountains to the vistas of everywhere we set foot on. We believe movie fans in the U.S. would wonder in awe as to where this beautiful place is." - Jordan Vogt-Roberts.

Tom Hiddleston arrived later than the rest of the cast because he was at Berlinale promoting The Night Manager. He went to the press conference straight from the airport.

The late arrival didn't stop Tom was taking time to learn a few phrases in Vietnamese so he could greet the audience in their native language.

Tom was told the crowd that he was excited to not be playing the villain in this movie.

"I have always wanted to challenge myself in different roles. I will try my best to play out this one. Unlike my previous roles, the character I play in Kong is a protagonist. I became an actor because I loved trying out new personalities and experience new genres. There's something very unique about my character in this movie, so I will try to do him justice."

Tom also revealed that he had applied for a VISA to travel to Vietnam when he was a student at Cambridge, but then he landed his first major acting role.

"Right from the age of 19, when I was a university student I was very eager to come to Vietnam, and got a visa to come here. But because the schedule coincided at the time of my first professional role. I had to concentrate on my career. Now, I have been in Vietnam and can enjoy it in the best way."

Samuel L. Jackson shared a selfie of the main trio ahead of the event.

Fashion:

Tom Hiddleston wore his Reiss Porto coat, Ralph Lauren button-up, and Tissot Couturier black strap watch ($281).

Also, Vietnam was the first time HiddlesFashion was in the press. As you can see - there have been a lot of improvements to the page since then!

Graham Norton: Kong Skull Island (2017)

February 17, 2017:

They say the third time's the charm and Tom Hiddleston's third visit to the Graham Norton Show did not disappoint. Tom was joined on the couch by Daniel Radcliffe, Joshua McGuire, Ruth Wilson, Ricky Gervais, and musical guest Tinie Tempah. You can watch the full episode here

Tom and Ruth previously appeared together in a television series called Suburban Shootout.  Tom described them their characters as a "young teenage couple struggling with life". Graham dug up a hilarious still of them getting "quite close" from the show.

You can watch video from the scene below:

Tom was there to promote his film Kong: Skull Island which he referred to as "Planet Earth on steroids".

Tom recounted a time at Eton when played the right leg of an elephant ridden by Eddie Redmayne in A Passage to India.

Tom and Eddie pictured as students at Eton.

Two Toms and a Jellyfish. Tom Hiddleston also gave his version an incident with Tom Hollander while filming The Night Manager.

“Tom got stung by a jellyfish and he shouted across the beach, ‘I say old sport could you come and pee on me?’ and I engagingly obliged”

Hiddleston's version is much milder than the one Hollander originally gave on the Jonathan Ross Show in 2016.

Fashion:

Tom Hiddleston wore a patterned three-piece and check bee jaquard tie from Gucci.

During this show, Daniel Radcliffe tells the story of how he wore the same outfit to keep the paparazzi from taking pictures of him. A lot of people try to credit that as the reason Tom also re-rewears his clothes. But anyone who has been following Tom Hiddleston for a long time knows that he has had a "uniform" since long before started to be on the paparazzi radar.

Betrayal Rehearsals (2019)

February 15, 2019:

Rehearsals for Betrayal only began February 5, but the main cast has already been very busy preparing for their March 5, 2019 opening.

On February 12, Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Cox, and Zawe Ashton stepped out for the All About Eve Press Night

And today (February 15th) we received our first look at the cast and director Jamie Lloyd together in rehearsal photos released in the Evening Standard

Tom Hiddleston plays the character Robert.

Zawe Ashton plays Emma.

And Charlie Cox is Jerry.

Robert and Emma are married.

Robert and Jerry are best friends.

Emma and Jerry are having an affair.

Director Jamie Lloyd.

Photographer Marc Brenner did an amazing job capturing the intensity of the play and also mixing in a little humor. Based on the set up I imagine they are rehearsing the party scene where Emma and Jerry begin their affair. This is the final scene in the play because it's told in reverse chronological order.

Fashion:

**Substitute Teacher Tom** Ok, class. Please open your textbooks at page 81! Having the pictures released in black and white makes it much more difficult to identify what Tom Hiddleston is wearing. Is he wearing his blue sweater? Is he wearing his read sweater? I have sent out some feelers to see if anyone will confirm this for me.

My best guess is that Tom is wearing his red John Smedley Crowford pullover based on the thick, ribbed neckline. The 2019 version is slightly different. His blue Lundy pullover from John Smedley has a much smaller neckline than what you see in the rehearsal pictures.

Tom is also wearing the suit jacket from his Ralph Lauren polo suit, along with his J Brand jeans. It is interesting because when Tom Hiddleston was using the Ralph Lauren suit as his go-to, he would sometimes wear the blazer from his Alexander McQueen suit for semi-formal outings. And now that he is wearing his Alexander McQueen suit as his go-to, he is wearing the blazer from the Ralph Lauren suit.

He finished off his look with his Kurt Geiger London Frederick Chelsea boots. These are actually a keepsake from Tom's last stage performance in RADA Hamlet.

But ultimately the real fashion winner is Zawe Ashton's socks!
