Met Gala: Manus x Machina (2016)

May 2, 2016:

Tom Hiddleston attended his first ever Met Gala in New York City. The Met Gala is a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. Each year, the Gala has a theme to coincide with the opening of the Costume Institute. The theme for 2016 was Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology

Since the night was dedicated to how technology has changed our lives, all of the stars were asked which tech gadget they couldn't live without. Most people answered with their phone or internet etc, Tom Hiddleston replied with "the compass". Because of course he would.

Tom posed on the red carpet with his The Night Manager co-star, Elizabeth Debicki.

They used a little step magic to make it appear that Tom was taller than her. ⌣

Fashion:

For the biggest night in fashion, Tom Hiddleston chose to go full white tie English Gentleman with tails and a waistcoat. Tom wore Ralph Lauren. This may look familiar since Tom also wore Ralph Lauren for the Vanity Fair British Invasion photoshoot.

Generally, stars who are dressed by the same designer pose for a group photo but for whatever reason Tom didn't take part in that on the night. If he had, Tom would've been joined by the likes of Amber Heard, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, and Ivanka Trump.

Tom caused quite a stir at the Gala (okay he caused a couple different stirs but we're not going there) when he was seen arriving with a very large bulge in his pocket. Easy now, not that kind of bulge. Turns out he was carrying his John Masters Hair Pomade ($19). You never know when you'll need a touch up after a night of dancing.
