#WakeUpCall for Syria (2014)

October 6, 2014:

Tom Hiddleston a posted a #WakeUpCall for Syria selfie on his twitter. In keeping tradition with viral marketing campaigns such as the Ice Bucket Challenge, Unicef created a new challenge called the #WakeUpCall for Syria. Led by Unicef UK Ambassador Jemima Khan, this challenge encouraged people to take a picture of themselves right after waking up, donating £5 to wakeupcall.org.uk (the website is not longer active), and then tagging three people to do the same. The funds went to support the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan which hosts refugees from Syria. As of 2018, more than 5.6 million Syrians have fled their country and more than 6 million Syrians are internally displaced.

Tom went on to challenge Emma Watson (who did not take part), Josie Rourke, and Keeley Hawes.

Some of the other celebrities to take part in the #WakeUpCall challenged included Naomi Campbell, Alexa Chung, Natalie Imbruglia, Stephen Fry, David Morrissey, Daisy Lowe, Claudia Winkleman, Liam Neeson, and of course Jemima Khan.

Fashion:

Tom Hiddleston was wearing a Nike AW77 Stadium Hoodie (in a slightly darker blue).
