Esquire UK: How to Wear Black Tie (2011)

November 22, 2011:

In preparation for Awards Season, Tom Hiddleston was featured in the December 2011 issue of Esquire UK. In 2011, Tom starred in or filmed five different films: The Deep Blue Sea, Thor, The Avengers, Midnight In Paris, and War Horse. In a short interview with Tim Lewis, Tom talks about his different roles. You can read the full interview here

My favorite tidbit from the interview is where Tom Hiddleston says that Steven Spielberg (director of War Horse) first discovered him from watching the 2006 docudrama Victoria Cross Heroes. Tom has a tiny cameo in Episode One of the series portraying John "Jack" Randle; a British Army Captain who sacrificed himself to destroy a machine gun nest during the Battle of Kohima. (Bonus tidbit: They both attended the Dragon School in Oxford and are listed on the school's page. Tom in the Eminent Dragons section and John in the War Heroes section)

Accompanying the interview was a photoshoot with David Titlow. You can see a full scan of the interview on David Titlow's blogLong before Tom Hiddleston was declared the Modern Day Suiting-God by GQ Magazine he was teaching men How to Wear Black Tie.
