Avengers Assemble in London (2012)

April 19, 2012:

Claridge's Hotel in London was the venue for the London press conference of The Avengers or Avengers Assemble as the movie is known in Europe. Kevin Feige (president of Marvel), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Colbie Smulders (Maria Hill), and Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson) all attended.

They took it very seriously of course.

Their faces after they saw Tom listed as Tom Hiddlestone probably.

The press conference also brought us this priceless moment between Tom and Mark.

After the press conference, the cast got glammed up for the red carpet premiere at the Westfield Mall.

Tom on playing Loki: "I've always found every character I play is like visiting a foreign country and they do things differently there, and the truth looks different. And people have different perceptions of the way things are. And Loki is warped beyond belief, he's absolutely off the deep end in his own mind, completely maniacal and megalomaniac and chaotic and crazy. It's interesting to think yourself into that place, try to inhabit his mindset because he's like any of the villains of history. It all comes from a lack of self-esteem. Anyone who's tried to take over, to get people beneath them, is usually lacking in self-love. It's funny, outside Loki I can judge him and call him the nutter that he is but inside him I have compassion for the fact that he's just a lost soul."

Some special moments on the red carpet with Elsa Pataky and Colbie Smulders.

Fashion:

For the press conference Tom Hiddleston wore an Emporio Armani Leather Biker Jacket and a contrast color shirt that try as I might I have never been able to identify. (probably also Armani)

For the premiere Tom changed into an Armani tuxedo with piping.

Also, shoutout to Amanda Grossman for her grooming work. Tommy looked amazing!
